About DeviceGuru
Welcome to this blog!
I’m Rick Lehrbaum, former VP and Executive Editor at Ziff Davis Enterprise and ZDNet/CNET, and former cofounder/CTO of Ampro Computers.
After moving on from Ampro in 1999 I created LinuxDevices, and later launched DeviceForge, DesktopLinux, WindowsForDevices, and Linux Watch. Following eight years of publishing those sites on my own at first, and later as part of ZDNet, CNET, and Ziff Davis Enterprise (who acquired them from me), I’ve set myself free once more and have launched a freelance consulting business.
I am currently offering consulting services in areas that include:
- Strategic planning and product definition
- Market analysis
- Product documentation writing/editing
- Public relations documentation writing/editing
- Third party relationship development
- Standards development/documentation
- Advisory-board / board-of-directors participation
From a technology perspective, my primary expertise is in embedded technology, including hardware, software, and systems. I hold a BS and MS in Physics, from New York University and the Univ. of Louisiana at Monroe, respectively.
Thanks for visiting this blog — I hope you find it interesting and informative!
